What is swimsuit anxiety
Research undertaken with over 100,000 women suggests that over 30% of women interviewed felt some degree of swimsuit anxiety. What is swimsuit anxiety? It's a slight feeling of awareness and nervousness you get when you start to think about Summer and the beach.
I personally have felt this, and it is this that has driven me to develop Suncheeter solutions for mature bodies, to fit well and flatter the areas that can cause the anxiety.
Even a little bit of extra coverage can give you a boost of confidence to get back to the beach and feel free in your body. It’s a great start and you’ll get more and more confident as you simply enjoy your life with those who matter to you.

RE-STOCK
Do you restock core colours?
We certainly do - colours such as navy and black we repeat so we almost always have stock. We also carry a few core colours which will be re-stocked assuming they keep selling.
Do prints get repeated?
We don’t repeat prints as we prefer to inject exciting new options into the range, so it is best to buy the print you love before it sells out.
Do your products offer SUN PROTECTION?
UVP50+
Suncheeter swimwear offers UVP50+ sun protection, which is equivalent to SPF50+ suncream, or 98% sun protection. UVP stands for UltraViolet Protection and ensures 1/50th of the sun’s harmful rays can penetrate the fabric which significantly reduces your exposure risk.
This benefit is created through the weave of the fabric, the type of yarn, and the design of the style. I wear mine when I am in the sun for prolonged periods protecting me from sunburn. It is lot less sticky and messy that sunscreen!
Our fabrics are tested by ARPANSA (The Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency), for efficacy in sun protection.
Is your swimwear sustainable?
As a beach-oriented brand, we adore being on the beach and swimming in the sea, but it is distressing to read about ocean pollution. We feel compelled to make every effort to use fabrics that feature good aesthetics such as hand feel and performance but also that offer something back. Being part of the circular economy is an important part of being in business.
We use a variety of fabrics to suit the garment, however we always look for eco-credentials such as whether the yarn has been recycled or is sustainable where ocean waste or plastic bottles are re-purposed back into yarn which can be rebuilt into high quality performance fabrics.
All our fabrics would be described as performance fabrics which mean they need to be:
- chlorine and salt-water resistant,
- offer UVP50+ sun protection,
- keep their shape when wet and dry,
- dry quickly when wet,
- “wick” heat away from the body
- and must be easy to wash.
Our fabrics include:
Fabric made from ECONYL® yarn, a 100% regenerated nylon made by recovering nylon waste such as fishing nets and industrial waste which would otherwise pollute the Earth.
Fabric made from post-consumer and ocean bound plastic bottles, sourced from Repreve Textiles ®
These fabrics are soft and breathable and is twice as resistant to chlorine and suntan creams than other yarns. They are hard-wearing and very high quality.
Performance
I can vouch for the quality of our products; I am still wearing the same Suncheeter Swim dress 5 years after purchasing it.
