Privacy Policy

This is the privacy policy for Suncheeter Australia (ABN 57 209 055 913) and our website suncheeter.com.au. Last updated 27 October 2026.

We handle your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. In plain words: we collect only what we need to serve you, we don't sell it, and you can ask us what we hold about you at any time.

What we collect

When you order, sign up to our newsletter or email us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, what you ordered, and anything you tell us in a message. Payment details go straight to our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.

When you browse the site, Shopify's cookies and similar tools collect your browser type and language, device, the pages you view, when you view them and the site that referred you. We use this to see how the site is used and to keep your cart and preferences between visits.

How we use it

To take and deliver your orders, answer your questions, handle returns, send you our newsletter if you've opted in, improve the site and our products, prevent fraud, and keep the business records the law requires. We only use your information for something new if it's closely related to why we collected it and you'd reasonably expect it, or if you agree.

Who we share it with

The companies that help us run the shop: Shopify (our store platform and our email newsletter service), our payment provider, Australia Post and other carriers, Judge.me (which collects and shows our product reviews), and our accountant or adviser if we have to. Each of them gets only what it needs to do its job, and each has its own privacy commitments. Some of them, including Shopify, store data outside Australia, mainly in the USA and Canada. We don't sell your information, and we only hand it over otherwise if the law requires it.

Marketing emails

We only email you news and offers if you've signed up. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and we stop within five business days of you using it.

Cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the site, like the cart, may not work without them.

Keeping it safe

Shopify stores your information on secure servers and handles card payments to the PCI DSS standard. Only Kate and anyone helping her run the shop can see your details, and only to do their job. We keep your information for as long as we need it to serve you, and we keep order records for at least five years because tax law requires it.

If your information is lost or exposed in a way likely to cause you serious harm, we'll tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it where the law doesn't require us to keep it. Email info@suncheeter.com.au and we'll reply within 30 days. There's no charge.

If you're in the UK or the EU, you have extra rights under your own privacy laws, and we'll honour them.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, email us first and we'll try to fix it. If you're still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we'll post the new version here with its date.
