Sizing and fit

What sizes do you stock?

Suncheeter swimwear comes in sizes 10 to 22. Some styles aren't made in every size, so check the product page.

For the best fit, use our size chart, which gives bust, waist and hip measurements. If you wear a 14, you'll be a 14 in Suncheeter tops and bottoms. If you're at the top of the measurement range for a style and like a relaxed fit, go up a size. The fabric is very stretchy, so if you prefer a firmer fit, your usual size will most likely suit you. It comes down to how you like to wear things.

Do your swim dresses and rash tops run true to size?

Yes, our styles are designed to run true to size. Our swim dresses have a relaxed, flattering fit and our rash tops are designed to move with you. Check the size guide on each product page for the measurements. Now and then a garment comes out a little smaller than our usual fit. When that happens we say so on the product page.

Can I mix and match sizes across a swim set?

Yes! Each piece in a swim set can be ordered in a different size, so you get the right fit on top and bottom. If you're a beautiful pear shape, for example, you can order a 14 top and a 16 bottom.

Product and fabric

What does UPF50+ mean and how does it protect me?

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor. UPF50+ is the highest rating under the Australian standard for sun protective clothing, and it means the fabric blocks at least 98% of the sun's UV rays. Unlike sunscreen, the protection comes from the fabric itself, so it doesn't wash off. The rating is measured on dry, unstretched fabric, so swimwear that has worn thin, faded or lost its shape protects you less. It's ideal for long days in the water or on the beach.

Are your fabrics chlorine resistant?

Yes! All Suncheeter swimwear is made from chlorine-resistant fabric, so it suits lap swimming, water aerobics and regular pool use. Rinse it in fresh water after each swim to wash the chlorine out. Looked after this way, it holds its shape and colour longer than standard swimwear.

Are your products made from recycled materials?

Yes. Our swim dresses, rash tops, crop tops and bather bottoms are made from recycled or regenerated nylon, which gives waste nylon a second life as a performance fabric with four-way stretch that dries quickly. Our swim leggings are made from recycled polyester with high stretch and a light compression effect. The Fabrics page lists what each fabric is made of.

Do your products protect against stingers?

They give some protection, but they are not stinger suits and we don't guarantee it. Stinger suits use lightweight, tightly woven fabric as a barrier between jellyfish tentacles and your skin. Our fabric is closely knitted and our styles fit close to the body, so they cover a lot of skin. In stinger season, follow local advice and wear a proper stinger suit where one is recommended.

Can I wear Suncheeter products for watersports?

Yes. Suncheeter makes swimwear for all kinds of water sports, with UPF50+ fabric and styles that let you move freely. Cancer Council Australia says UV radiation causes more than 95% of skin cancers, and water gives you little protection: a large share of UV still reaches your skin half a metre below the surface. That's why it matters to cover your shoulders, back, neck and the backs of your legs.

Suncheeter fabrics keep their shape when wet, so you stay covered whatever the sport. They dry quickly, so you can go from one activity to the next in comfort.

How do I care for my swimwear?

Rinse in cold fresh water after each wear. Hand wash or gentle machine wash with a mild detergent. Dry flat or on the line, in the shade. Don't tumble dry, and keep it out of strong sun while it dries, as that wears the fabric over time. Most of all, don't leave your swimwear wet in a bag. Swim sets and bundles

What's included in a swim set?

Our swim sets are three-piece bundles: a swim dress, swim leggings and a crop top. Each set is designed to coordinate and can be worn together or as separates.

Sometimes we develop new sets with other combinations. Check the product pages in the online store to see what's available.

Can I buy the pieces in a swim set separately?

Yes! Every piece is sold on its own, in its collection, across the full size range. Buying the set gives you the best value, with a bundle discount.

Do pieces from different sets mix and match?

Our core black styles go with every range. Printed styles are designed as coordinated sets, and many customers mix a print top with black leggings, or the other way round, for a versatile wardrobe.

Swim leggings and rash tops

What's the difference between swim leggings and swim unders?

Swim leggings come in four leg lengths: full length to the ankle, cropped to mid-calf, short like a bike short, and boyleg, which finishes on the mid-thigh and is our shortest legging. They give sun protection and modest coverage in and out of the water, and they stop thigh chafe. The fabric is thicker and heavier than our bather bottoms, with a buttery soft matt finish, and it doesn't show through, even at the gym or when wet. They have a light compression, so you feel covered and supported. Plenty of customers wear them to the gym and every day.

What are swim unders?

Our swim unders are bather bottoms and crop tops designed to be worn under a swim dress or rash top, or on their own as a supportive bikini.

Are rash tops suitable for lap swimming?

Yes! Our rash tops are made for active water use, including lap swimming. The chlorine-resistant, four-way stretch fabric moves with you and stays put during exercise. Because of the styling, the top doesn't ride up or fill with water when you swim.

Do swim leggings provide sun protection?

Yes. All our swim leggings are UPF50+, the same sun protection as our rash tops. They're ideal for water sports, beach days and outdoor activities where you want full leg coverage.

Can I wear a swim dress to lunch?

Yes. Our modest swimwear lets you go from the beach to lunch or the pub, comfortable and covered, without the fuss of getting changed. A little more cover gives you the confidence to be yourself, whatever you're doing.

Shipping and returns

Do you ship Australia-wide and internationally?

Yes. We ship Australia-wide with standard and express options, and overseas to the countries shown at checkout. Shipping rates and delivery times are calculated at checkout from your address. See our Shipping page.

How long does delivery take?

We pack and post within 2 business days. Standard delivery then usually takes 4 to 10 business days, and Express Post 3 to 6 business days. Regional and remote areas can take a few extra days. International delivery times depend on the destination and are shown at checkout.

If an item is marked Pre-Order on the product page, it's due in soon but hasn't arrived yet. We post your whole order together once it arrives, and we'll keep you posted on timing. See our Shipping page.

What is your returns policy?

If you change your mind, you can return full-price items within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange, and sale items for an exchange or store credit, as long as they're unworn, unwashed and still have their tags on. For hygiene, try swimwear on over underwear. Clearance items can't be returned if you change your mind. Return postage is yours to pay, and we don't refund the original shipping cost.

If something is faulty or not what you ordered, that's different. You're covered by the Australian Consumer Law whatever you paid, we pay the return postage, and you can choose a replacement or a refund. See our Exchange and Refunds page for how to send something back.
