Every collection is designed with one mission in mind; to help women reclaim their confidence at the beach or by the pool.
Our First Swimwear Shoot
More than twelve years ago, Suncheeter’s journey began with our very first photoshoot on the back beach near Sorrento, Victoria. It was May, late autumn in Victoria and yet fortune was on our side with a rare crisp, clear day. We were so excited as our very first swimwear designs were ready to be captured in action.
Behind the camera that day was Jacqui Henshaw, a trusted friend and highly regarded Australian photographer. Known for her keen eye and ability to tell stories through her lens, Jacqui’s work has always been about authenticity and connection; values that align perfectly with our own.
A Star in front of the Camera
Adding even more magic to that first shoot was internationally renowned jazz vocalist Hetty Kate, who brought poise, warmth, and grace to every frame. Known for her timeless style and elegant presence on stage, Hetty Kate embodied exactly what Suncheeter stands for: confidence, individuality, and classic styling. With Jacqui behind the camera and Hetty Kate in front, our debut collection came to life in the most inspiring way.

The Author: Kate Dear
Kate has worked as a clothing designer through the heady 80's, 90's and beyond for a number of Australian brands. She has also run workshops helping women dress for their shape and it's the combination of all this experience plus a deep love of the beach that has lead to Suncheeter.
